Remnants of You

, , ,

You are there, always,
A vision stained on my mind,
A memory I cannot erase,
A love that will never be mine

You are there, always,
Like a ghost that haunts me,
The spirit that watches,
But never intercedes

You are there, always,
Tattooed on my skin—
A permanent reminder,
Of a life once well lived

You are there, always,
Your voice in the wind,
Whispering your secrets
hat keep me trapped here within

And even when escape seems possible—
When death is welcomed in—
Still, you are there…
To remind me of what has never been.
