Poetry is a mirror which makes beautiful that which is distorted.

Percy Shelley

Poetry is one of the many expressions of the soul. It is an art form
that opens the eyes of many to a world they have never seen before or
might have never dreamed existed. Poetry creeps into every nook and
cranny of our everyday lives even if we don’t always realize it. What
are lyrics? Nothing more than poetry set to music.

I’d like to think that art inspires art. Much of what you will read
on this site has been inspired by some other art form, namely music.
Another great inspiration is the everyday world around us. I let the
simplicity and intricacies of nature bring out the best in me and my
writing.

The premise of this site is to share a bit of my poetry with the hope
someone will find some deeper solace in it. Also it’s to share the work
of friends that have inspired me. Here’s to hoping it all inspires you!

About

wpid-img_570654718797270.jpeg

Born in Belize City, Belize, C.A., Andrea Coote started writing poetry at the age of twelve. It took a simple assignment to inspire something that would become a lifelong love, and saviour. She adopted the online handle Poetic Computer (p.c.) a few years later as she shared her poetry in online communities. PC is very important to her, and is a representation of the two sides of her, the poet and the programmer.
Andrea draws from her experience and the world around her when she writes. Reading one of her poems is like an up-close and personal look into her diary. She leaves it all on the page. Her musical and literary tastes definitely steer the direction of much of her work. Writing is what keeps her breathing and sane.
